2017 Schedule of Events

Thursday, September 14: 1:00 – 4:00 pm

BICYCLE CASE AND OVERSIZE LUGGAGE STORAGE:
If you have large boxes that you need to store during the race, you may bring them to RACER CHECK-IN for storage at the host hotel. They may be retrieved at any time after the first finishers begin to cross the finish line on Saturday.

RACER CHECK-IN:
Hilton Garden Inn, Salon A
THIS MUST BE COMPLETED BY 400PM, OR THE ASSOCIATED RACER(S) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

VEHICLE and BICYCLE INSPECTION:
In the hotel parking lot. Plan on arriving with all your vehicle signage, lights, triangle, and other safety equipment in place and ready to use. All support vehicles must be checked for maximum width, as well as totem signage, caution signs, triangles, roof lights, and comprehensive first aid kits. Also, plan on showing that all bicycles are safe and race-ready and are equipped, or quickly equipable, with excellent front and rear lights and lots and lots of reflective materials facing in all directions. THIS MUST BE COMPLETED BY 400PM, OR THE ASSOCIATED RACER(S) WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO COMPETE.

Thursday, September 14: 4:30 – 6:00 pm

PRE-RACE MEETING:
Location: Reno-Sparks Convention Center, 4590 S Virginia St, Reno, NV 89502 (Room A1, close to the North Entrance doors).
Solo entrants must be represented by the racer and at least one crew. 2X Team entrants must be represented by at least one racer and one crew. 4X Team entrants must be represented by at least two racers and one crew or 3 racers. ALL crew members and ALL racers are strongly encouraged, and expected, to attend.

Friday, September 15: 5:00 am

SOLO START TIME:
The race will begin at the front of the Hilton Garden Inn, near the starting arch near the driveway entrance. All riders must be present at the start no later than twenty minutes prior to their start time for pre-race instructions and photos. Front and Rear bicycle lights are required for 5:00 AM starters.

Friday, September 15: 7:00 am

RELAY START TIME:
The race will begin at the front of the Hilton Garden Inn,  near the starting arch near the driveway entrance. All riders must be present at the start no later than twenty minutes prior to their start time for pre-race instructions and photos. Bicycle lights are not required as sunrise is at 6:43AM.

Sunday, September 17: 5:00 am

ENDING TIMES:
Barring any unforeseen serious circumstances, the event is officially over for all entrants at 5:00AM on Sunday.

Sunday, September 17: 7:00 am

POST-RACE BREAKFAST FOR RACERS AND CREWS:
The breakfast will be at the Hilton Garden Inn (only feet from the finish line) and is included in registration for racers. Crew/family/fiends/fans can opt to buy-in to the breakfast for $13, which includes taxes + gratuity. It's a hotel provided hot and cold breakfast buffet. Plenty to choose from, and a nice way to wrap-up the event, tell tales from the road, and connect with other racers and crew to close out The 508. We'll have some fun awards and photos projected from the race.
